Attraction Description / Itinerary : After pick-up from Kusadasi hotels or port, we drive towards Pamukkale, enjoying scenic views of traditional Turkish villages surrounded by lush olive trees along the way. After approximately two hours of driving, we arrive in Pamukkale, located in the province of Denizli.
Pamukkale is a breathtaking natural wonder formed by hot springs and streams that deposit carbonate minerals, creating its famous white terraces and travertines. Renowned since ancient times for its therapeutic thermal waters, Pamukkale has been used as a healing spa for centuries and was proudly inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.
Just next to Pamukkale lies the ancient city of Hierapolis, founded in 200 BC by Eumenes II in honor of the Amazon Queen Hiera, wife of Telephos, the legendary founder of Pergamum. Hierapolis is a remarkable ancient city, attracting worldwide attention with its impressive monuments and majestic architectural remains.
Following a series of devastating earthquakes, Hierapolis lost much of its original Hellenistic character and was later reconstructed with strong Roman architectural influences, giving the city its present form. During the Byzantine period, Pamukkale became an important center of Christianity, as Saint Philip, one of the apostles of Jesus, was martyred here.
The city came under Turkish rule in the 9th century and has preserved its historical and cultural significance ever since. Welcoming thousands of visitors each year with its unique blend of ancient heritage and natural beauty, Pamukkale is waiting to welcome you as well.
At the end of the tour, we drive you back to Kusadasi.
